Eyebrows McGee is a young woman living in the emotional heartland of America: Peoria, that infamous bellwether constantly cited by the clueless culturati, as in, "But will it play in Peoria?" Eyebrows gives you a ground-level view of what's actually playing in Peoria.

I used Ron's Carpets (located on NE Adams St, fairly close to the chemical plant... PMP?) one time, and they were wonderful. The were pleasant in the showroom, very reasonable on the price, and did an excellent job on the installation. I plan to use them again when/if I replace more carpet.
I also used Ron's and loved them. The employees were great from the saleslady to the installers.
We just had Columbia (over by Target) put carpet in my parent's house. They were fast, friendly and very affordable. Definitely recommend.
Hardwood floors all the way!!!! They are much easier to clean baby puke off of.
It's cheaper to clean them!
I "third" Ron's. They did my basement and stairs.
my boss uses the flooring depot. i'm not sure how great they are but i know that's where he always goes for carpet.
I am with Mahkno. Go with hardwoods. Hardwoods are more expensive, perhaps, at the beginning but wear much better. I did a mix with my last home. Most of the hardwoods I had for 4 years and they still looked great when I sold. Purchased mid-range priced carpet and installed two years before I sold and carpet was already showing wear, even though we tried to take great care. Make sure you go with a hardwood that is tough enough to hold up to the toddler toy drops!
Good luck.
90% of the house is hardwood floors. I would like *one single room* where the baby can roll around on the carpet. That room is currently carpeted and needs new carpet.
well, I can't argue with just one room. Plus, kids do love carpet. My kids hated when we changed to hardwoods. The gymnastic landings are not so easy! I have had Ron's do work. Thought the prices and staff were good but was disappointed in the installation crew, but that sometimes happens.
